One game that is gaining popularity online is table craps. In a casino the game can appear to be intimidating, but played online the whole scene of yelling players and gathering crowds just isn’t part of the experience. Many online gamers are trying it for the first time and realizing how easy the game is to play. Playing online provides new craps players an opportunity to learn the game as they play for low stakes or in free games before they try it live.
The game of craps has had a long history. It has made its way around the globe over time, evolving into many different variations over the years. Dice games are some of the oldest forms of gambling there are, dating back to ancient China thousands of years ago. Many different dice games have developed over the years, but the modern version of craps gets its roots from an old English game called hazard. Hazard was so popular in England in the 17th and 18th centuries it was commonly played for money throughout London. Many say the game dates back to the

Crusades as French gamblers influenced social change in a newly conquered England. Its name comes from the Arabic word for plural dice “az-zahr”.

Hazard was much more complicated than modern craps, and today’s version of craps has dropped a lot of the more difficult rules. Craps developed after it was brought overseas to New Orleans by Bernard Xavier Philippe de Marigny de Mandeville, who was a descendent of wealthy Louisiana land owners and politicians. Initially it was called crapaud, and then eventually craps.

The game grew in popularity in early America because it requires little equipment to play. All players need is a piece of chalk and a pair of dice to play, so games could be easily set up by gamblers, soldiers, and miners looking to wager some of their hard-earned cash. Games were structured against each other or through a bank that covered wagers on the dice combinations. Playing street craps usually requires that all bets are covered on the spot before the roll, and in most places it’s illegal to play the game for real money. Today craps action is available in most casinos, but the action is not a staple in every one.

1. In poker, you need to adapt. Whether advice is good or bad for a particular poker situation depends on (1) your opponents, (2) your image, and (3) your bankroll. Some proven plays may not be good ones against certain opponents. For instance, I advocate making many “value bets” at high risk when you’re only a slight money favorite. When you do this, you’re pressing your advantage to extract every possible penny of profit. Weaker players will not always press their advantages, and – worse – they will act aggressively with some hands that don’t warrant a bet or a raise. Doyles Room – All USA Players Welcome

That costs them money. But if you do know that a value bet is profitable (and it isn’t really a value bet otherwise), I believe that you should bet. OK, but beware. If your image is not correctly suspicious, you’re not going to get many calls, and you often shouldn’t bet medium-strong hands for value. And if your bankroll is too limited, you should forego some aggressive plays targeted at small profit but involving great risk.

That way, you’ll hang on to your bankroll and can use those funds to make more money when you have bigger edges. In poker, you need the right tool for right now. A hammer may be a good tool for driving a nail into a shingle, but it’s not right for driving a meat thermometer into a roasting turkey. Today we’ll look at some of the good advice from the previous 37 weeks, and explain when it’s bad.

2. Betting second pair on the flop. I advise that often you can do this profitably in hold’em if (1) your foes are timid, (2) you have a big kicker, or (3) the top rank is small. But don’t bet second-high board pair if your opponents look uninterested. If they’re acting, this monumental tell means that they’re waiting to pounce. And even if they’re not acting, you have little motive to bet. So, bet second pair often, yes. Don’t bet it against opponents who don’t seem to be paying attention.
3. Bet weak hands. On the last betting rounds, bet hopeless or nearly hopeless hands into opponents whose hands are apt to be equally bad. You’ll often win with that bet and avoid losing to slightly better hands in showdowns. This concept suggests that whenever you’re reasonably sure that neither you nor your opponent has a very strong hand, you’ll make more profit in the long run by betting than by checking and risking a showdown. But, consider your opponent. Don’t bet your weakest hands if you might be REbluffed. You won’t be able to call, assuming that your opponent doesn’t conspicuously overuse this tactic. So, try this play only against opponents with seemingly weak hands who are not aggressive or imaginative.

4. Be fun. If opponents enjoy playing with you, they’ll usually give you more of their money. But sometimes you can build an image that’s too carefree – and then your opponents may become inspired and play tighter and better, hoping that you’ll be their salvation. I’ve seen this happen many times. Opponents are losing and playing badly. You try to encourage them to continue by playing a few hands even worse. Usually this works, but beware. If you’re against opponents who do know how to play a strong conservative game, you might have just inspired them to come back to their senses – thinking that they can get even from you now. Remember, the object of a wild image is to get opponents to play loosely and carelessly, not tightly and selectively.

5. Tournament advertising. In a poker tournament, advertise before the limits increase. This gives you psychological value at a reduced price. But sometimes, advertising isn’t right at all in a tournament. If the increasing limits are going to cause your opponents to be bluffable in the next higher-limit round, you often should take advantage of that by maintaining a solid image now. Also, you need to have a full table when you bluff; otherwise, you’re paying for advertising that probably isn’t reaching a wide enough audience. And make sure that your table isn’t going to be the next one to break before you advertise. Otherwise, all of the people you’ve “set up” will be scattered around the tournament arena, and you’ll get little or no value for your advertising.

6. Benefits of a wild image. A wild and reckless image not only profits from more calls, it tends to discourage bluffs through intimidation. Players don’t like to bluff opponents who seem not to care about money. But sometimes, a fun-loving opponent will get caught up in your routine and will bluff a lot – just for fun. In this case, your image has enticed more bluffs from that opponent – and you should call more.

7. Playing against blind bets. You should tend to attack the blinds less when the players defending them are aggressive and unpredictable. “Tight and passive” are the best blinds to attack, for many reasons previously explained in my lectures. But, you sometimes should send a warning to aggressive and unpredictable foes on your left by raiding their blinds from late positions. Remember, these players to your left have a positional advantage over you on most hands, and you may diminish their will to maximize their positional advantage on other hands when they’re not the blinds. So, although the advice to be less aggressive in attacking blinds of opponents who defend them is valid, there’s also a time when you might want to attack those blinds, simply to make those opponents less aggressive in the future. Strange game, poker.

One method of playing blackjack that is growing in popularity is playing in a blackjack tournament. These tournaments provide the player with many benefits for their playing dollar, while providing players with an opportunity to significantly increase their playing bankroll. Blackjack tournaments come in different forms, and some of them require that you know a little strategy to increase your chances. The way the tournament is structured can have an influence on your decisions as you play, so knowing what moves to make in a specific tournament can increase your chances of winning. English Harbour Casino – US Players welcome

One type of blackjack tournament where one should consider some elements other than hand play is elimination tournaments. These events have periodically occurring hands that, once they are played out, the player with the smallest amount of chips left will be eliminated from the tournament.

These hands usually come in intervals, and the hands are almost evenly spaced (hands 8, 16, and 25 out of a total 30 is a common example). When these hands occur you know that you have to make sure you’re not the player with the most chips left, and you may have to make a bold move or shy away from play, depending on your chip stack.
In addition to the pressure of playing the elimination hand, it’s common for the time limit allowed to the player to be shortened from the usual time limit. The shorter widow to decide what to do is another way to put the pressure on the player and force the action of the tournament. Players who have memorized their basic blackjack charts, and can remember the best move to make when the clock is ticking, will hold an advantage over their opponents who can’t perform under that kind of pressure.

So if you’re the type of player who likes to relax and enjoy your blackjack game without ever experiencing pressure, you might want to stick to the regular blackjack variations. But if you like to test your ability to play basic strategy against a clock and battle with other players who are doing the same, these elimination tournaments can be much more fun and rewarding than the regular blackjack action to which you’ve grown accustomed.

Online gaming is usually a losing endeavour. The house carries an edge on every game in an online casino, so over time you’re guaranteed to lose money. There are some strategies that one can learn to lower the house edge over them, and slow down this rate, but even when playing to optimum strategy a player can expect to lose in an online casino. But that is an average of all the players, and isn’t true for a percentage of players who end up winning big at some time or other in their play. Some players hit big jackpots or go on winning streaks that make them a lot of money. English Harbour Casino – US Players welcome

The object of online gaming is to enjoy the games while you have a chance to make a profit. If one plays enough, they will eventually have a big payday. Staying in the game long enough to have that payday is what responsible gaming is all about. If you don’t manage money properly you’ll be broke too often, and you’ll miss sessions that could have been the big one. Being in the game is what matters the most in a game of chance; you can’t win if you’re not playing.
Figuring out what you have to do to ensure that you’re always in the game when you can play is simple to do. The first thing to do is make sure of the amount of money that you can afford to lose over the run of a week. Once you know what you can afford to lose you need to figure out how many playing sessions you’ll be able to play and how long they will be. Add the total number of playing hours together and divide the amount of playing money you can afford to lose by the number of hours you intend to play that week.

Then you’ll know how much you can afford to lose every hour that you play, and you can set that as a limit in your play. If you’re playing a three-hour session, only take three times the hourly rate with you to the tables. If you lose it before the three hours are up, you have to leave the game – and don’t cut into the rest of your bankroll until next session.

Video poker is a game where the player can learn proper strategy and lower the house edge down to almost nothing. That doesn’t mean that there won’t be streaks of good luck and bad luck, so preparing for the variance of video poker will be as necessary as it is in all the other games of chance.English Harbour Casino – US Players welcome

In order to hit the big hands on a video poker machine you have to be playing it, and without proper bankroll management you won’t be playing the game half of the time that you could be because you’ll be broke. When you practice proper bankroll strategy you can afford to suffer losing streaks without busting out, and you’ll still be in the game when things turn back in your favor.

The first thing you have to figure out is what stakes you should be playing at. The house edge in this game is roughly 1% when played to optimum strategy. That means you can expect to lose one dollar for every $100 you wager. It doesn’t take long to wager $100 on a video poker machine when you’re losing and gaining credits every spin. If you wager $1000 every hour you can expect to lose $10 an hour. If your bankroll is $100 you won’t go very far with it unless you hit some big hands. You can expect to have 10 hours of playing time from your $100. You should have enough money to cover all the playing sessions in your week.
The bigger your bankroll, the longer the losing streak you can endure until you hit some big hands and win back a portion, or more, of what you lost. The near-to-even odds include that you, at some point, hit the big hands like the royal flush. In order to hit these hands you’ll need a bankroll that will keep you in the game long enough for that hand to come your way. The games are random, so the variance can be different for long periods of time. But in the long run you will eventually hit big hands for big payoffs, and all your efforts will be worth it. As long as you haven’t spent more than the jackpots you win, you’ll be to the good.

Some of the worst players online at this moment in time that I have witnessed have been in the Omaha /8 games. I don’t know what it is about this form of poker that players find so difficult to grasp. I mean we are not talking about playing in pot limit games here or playing in short handed and heads up games, I am talking about players making basic errors in full limit ring games. Pokerstars

If you could find enough action and are prepared to multi-table then playing Omaha /8 could become a nice steady revenue source for you with just a basic understanding of it and nothing more. Maybe it is because I took to this game like a duck to water that I find it so staggering as to why many players struggle with it. In fact I have been watching the cash games recently and the level of play at this form of poker is quite low in my opinion.

I will assume here that you have an understanding of just how it works so I will not be expanding on that here. But what I find happens an awful lot online is that many players drop into cash games for thirty minutes to an hour or so before a tournament is due to start or that they have got bored of their usual cash game and wanted to try something different.

Well poker and gambling for that matter is a very unforgiving business where naivety and ignorance rarely go unpunished for long. Omaha /8 is a split pot game where the high hand takes half the pot and the low hand takes the other half providing it qualifies of course. All right so I have just took the award for the most obvious statement of the year but hidden in that statement is one of the reasons for why many players fail at Omaha/8.

The fact that the pot gets split means that you should not be playing hands in O/8 that aim at winning only half of the pot. I sometimes think that many players view winning half of the pot as some sort of major achievement and the way that some of them play a bare A-2 underlines the fact even more. But when all you have is a bare A-2 and nothing else then even winning half of the pot could be out of your reach as two or more players having the nut low is very common in O/8.

But ending up with £250 out of a £1000 pot even if your boat comes in is not my idea of a successful pot. Because of how the game is played then there will always be a winner for high but not necessarily for low.

This means that if all you have going for you is a nut low draw in a multi-way pot then you had better not get too excited about your prospects. But because of the fact that you are aiming for the whole pot and not just half of it then you can certainly play a hand that has high potential only because of the fact that there may be no qualifying low.

Winning the entire pot is called “scooping” and this is really where you make your money in O/8. But as a follow on to the subject of just having a bare ace deuce working for you and nothing else, not only do we have the very distinct possibility of getting quartered as was explained earlier but also the very real chance of getting your hand counterfeited. Let us say that the flop comes 8-7-4 giving you the nut low but then an ace comes on the turn….oh dear oh dear, look what has happened to your lovely nuts!

O/8 like it’s cousin Omaha high is basically a drawing game and if you are drawing then you had better make damn sure that you are drawing to something that is worth drawing to. The fact of the matter is that an A-2 by itself is simply not worth the effort most of the time. Even if you hit it then you are only getting half of the pot at best. But someone else could easily be holding the same low and especially in a multi-way pot. Then you can make your hand only to lose it again if an ace or a deuce arrives.

Many a time in full ring games and especially in a limit format then O/8 can actually get very boring because an awful lot of folding can sometimes be involved and the game is nowhere near as complex as hold’em but yet the split pot nature of the game seems to confuse an awful lot of players.

In games at the lower end of the spectrum then tight is right as it is in most low stakes games irrespective of the form and drawing to non nut hands especially on the low side can prove fatal to your bankroll. But creativity and aggression will be rewarded in higher limit games and especially in pot limit play. But as I said earlier, you can play a very dull and unimaginative game in low stakes O/8 and actually do quite well.

As well as playing professionally online I also coach poker and what I have found over the past year to eighteen months is an increasing number of players coming to me wanting to learn about O/8. Of course you cannot approach any kind of coaching with a “one glove fits all” attitude and what I tell them is highly dependent on what type of experience they have and what levels they currently play at and how much they actually understand poker.

These are key elements, it is no good showing a player how to beat low limit ring games at O/8 if they have been playing $25-$50 No Limit. They just would not be interested in playing at that level and this would certainly mean them losing money even though they could be technically the best player in the game at all round poker. If you are a very good poker player and actually have a very firm grasp of what poker is and the underlying concepts of it then you will quickly find your feet at any form of poker.

But when players do not understand the game then they have nothing left to fall back on other than learning what constitutes a good hand from a bad one and playing very tightly and grinding it out. But many players cannot even manage that in the low stakes O/8 games where multi-way pots are common and players are coming in with all sorts of junk. An example, someone limps into a multi-way pot because it is cheap with A-4-J-8 rainbow…..what in god’s name is that?

You are drawing at a third nut low even if you make it and some kind of straight….crazy! Somebody out there is likely to beat you not only for low but for high as well. You need to go both ways and try to scoop but you need to exercise a great deal of caution in exactly how you go about it.

There are many, many gamblers and average online casino goers alike who prefer one type of a game when compared to another. Of course there are exceptions to this, as there always are, but it’s an interesting case when it comes to video slots and classic slots. People make assumptions about the possible winnings when it comes to either game, and people also like to assume that one game is better over the other, like one slots game to another. Both of these assumptions are wrong, as there are many unique aspects of each game, aspects that make each preferable in specific cases.
Video slots are slot machines that have a digital interface, have bonus games that sometimes involve skill, and generally give a longer play time to the customer or gambler. With video slots, it’s possible to have bets on many more lines than ever thought of, and it’s possible to end up betting a big sum of money with every play or spin of the reels. Video slots also have complex graphics and appear flashy to casino-goers in an attempt to reel them into playing the machines. The last detail is clearly an aesthetics issue, though. When it comes to video slots, players should decide on some basic ideas to differentiate it from classic slots at an online casino.
With classic slots, you can only bet up to so much, and in some cases it’s significantly lower than many video slots. The game time happens to be much shorter, and there aren’t as many progressive jackpot machines as there are with video slots. So the differences are simple. If you want a game that will actually give you your money’s worth, appeal to you with complex animations and videos, and have high stakes on the line, you should go with video slots. Maybe if you want to be more patient and have more chances to win much smaller amounts of money, you should try classic slots.

I’d like to talk to you about something that came up the other night while playing live poker.

A player named Cody and I get involved in a pot. We are playing NL Holdem cash game; I raised to $60 from mid position with 9c 9h. Cody completes from the big blind for $40 more the flop comes Jc Tc 6h. Cody checks, I bet $90 into a $130 pot Cody calls. The turn card is 3d. Cody checks again and I decide to play the player whom I have played many hours with here.

I check the turn because the pot is now $310 and Cody has $650 in front of him and I know if bet the turn and get called or raised I must have the worst hand here and drawing to only 2 outs. I hate to give free cards here because any card from a 7 to an Ace or a clubs is a bad card for me. But I also know by checking Cody will 100% bet the river no matter what comes on 5th street. The river was the 2d and I was a little surprised when he went all in on the river betting $650 into a $310 pot. My first instinct was to call because why would he bet so much into a $310 pot?

I know river free bets are made to extract value for the hand you have or river bets are made because that the only way you can win the pot. So I start the interview process and ask Cody in a laughing way “Cody, why in the hell did you bet so much?” I wanted to see his reaction to my question. I could tell he was not super happy about the bet he just made and he knew I figured out that he free bet in no way made sense because if he had a pair of Jacks or Tens he would of bet a lot less and more of a protection bet so I would not raise him unless I have a monster hand. I was now 95% sure I was going to call here but I wanted to talk a little more to him and asked him to be honest with me and tell me why I should fold to this massive bet for the pot size?

The reason I asked this question was to get a little more information from him and also to let others know at the table if they try and bluff me and their story they are telling at the poker table does not make sense they will also have to go through an interview process. I wanted to make them think twice about wanting to bluff me as opposed to some of the other players at the table. He was staring me down trying to act really strong with his hand and when I saw that I knew my 2 nines were golden. I called and won the pot and he was in total shock I would call $650 in that spot. I told him he put me on the spot and I had a really tough decision to make but in reality it was the big bet that made the decision much easier.

Cody went home thinking how lucky I was to have made that call when he gave me many signs my hand was good. Cody left shaking his head telling everyone how unlucky he was that night. I don’t see Cody’s luck changing anytime soon until he learns some of the finer aspects of NL Holdem.

Always ask yourself when you see a river bet, is this player trying to extract money from me with his good hand? or is this person betting because it’s the only way they can win the pot? Remember some advanced players will do something called a “value bet bluff”, meaning they are betting the river at a discounted price looking as if they are wanting a call and often getting someone to fold a better hand. You almost never see this play from a beginner and many top pros use this play quite a bit.

You can try these at Rainbow Riches .

Official Poker Rule set is the right thing to have about you and to have mastered before beginning your new winning game. Who knows maybe it will be you who will get the Olympus of the gambling industry and our official poker rule information can probably turn out to be of the lion’s share.

Let’s begin with the very basics of basic poker rules. Sorry, much of muchness. Hey, here is one important official poker rule: don’t forget to add some fun to your game to make it more entertaining and amusing. Okay, let’s start with the very beginning. In a pack there are fifty-two cards of four different suits. The suits are standard. To be precise they are hearts, diamonds, spades, and clubs. Each player gets five cards. This is a regular amount of cards dealt. Though there are some games when a player can have up to seven cards. No matter how many cards a hand may contain, the higher cards the hand has, the more chances there are that it will win, explain the basic poker rules.

Betting keeps an important part of success when one applies official poker rules. Certainly the game can’t begin without grasping the main notions of hands ranking and values, but after all the game will come to an end if a player has no rough idea of what path to follow if he doesn’t know what bet it’s better to put. That’s why it’s the very betting kinds that the official poker rules recommend to review and analyze.

Before putting any bet you need to pay a necessary amount of money, this is called ‘to ante your game up’. After this you will get your hand drawn to you due to the official poker rules that contain basics of poker rule terms.

So there are several options available. You can call, raise or fold according to the official poker rule. Let’s now consider them one after another.

1. To call is to put as much as it is needed so that to get the same bet as other players have. So if you lay a quarter, and then a player put fifty cents, you will have to add another quarter.
2. To raise means to get the level of maximum betting, that is possible if your bet is higher than other players’ ones and still you have room to increase your bet.
3. You can also fold, suggesting that you give up the hand and the present pot, but you will have to add no extra money into the pot.

Get familiar with official online poker rules and it will help you play in an official capacity! If you want to show the poker rules to your friends in Germany you can tell them to see Poker Regeln at Pacific Poker.
